BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Legacy’s football team might have had the biggest win in the state in week one, knocking off the defending state champs.

The return to the field in week one is exciting for any team, but for the Sabers’ running back Yusuf Jama, lacing up the cleats this time meant a little more.

Yusuf Jama is one of the best running backs in North Dakota.

“He’s a dog,” fellow senior teammate Jack Julson said.

Jama was a 1,000-yard rusher as a junior and earned a second-team All-State selection, but his progress was derailed late in the season.

“Me tearing my PCL was just a little setback that I just had to work on in the offseason,” Jama said. “It didn’t affect me, doesn’t affect the team. I’m here, I’m ready to go.”
