A woman with 'a good job and nice house' has opened up about her experience with drugs which led to an overdose. Laura, who's name has been changed, started using cannabis when she was just 14.

Things escalated quickly and before she knew it, a major cocaine habit led her to use heroin. By the time she overdosed, she was combining crack cocaine and cocktails of tablets with heroin.

Laura is sharing her story for Overdose Awareness Day as councils across Teesside take the opportunity to promote their support services. She said: "It sounds silly looking back, but I loved the hedonistic lifestyle. One thing just led to another really.
