THE Kansas City Chiefs have failed to agree a new contract with key star Trent McDuffie.
The Chiefs have been in discussions with McDuffie about a new multiyear deal over the last six weeks.
But despite several conversations going on as an attempt to find an agreement on an extension, ESPN report no such deal has been reached with the 24-year-old.
McDuffie, a two-time All-Pro player, will be entering his fourth NFL season on Friday.
The Chiefs are taking on the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil in their season opener.
Prior to Sunday practice, McDuffie had confessed he expected to play out this season in the fourth year of his rookie contract.
The 2022 first round draft pick is set to earn a base salary of $2,613,066 for the upcoming season.
He is rated as the Chiefs
