CLARKTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a crash in southeast Missouri on Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) stated the crash happened on August 31, at 6:16 p.m., along Missouri Highway 72, roughly 10 miles east of Bunker.

State police said a 46-year-old man from Bunker was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado going west when the vehicle traveled off the road and crashed.

The driver was pronounced dead moments after the crash by a Washington County Ambulance District paramedic.

MSHP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

State police said this is the 24th death related to a crash in the Troop G area for 2025.
