The tenth annual Paducah Dragon Boat Festival takes place on Saturday on the Paducah riverfront.
Chinese dragon boats are long, human-powered watercraft adorned with a dragon head at the bow and a dragon tail at the stern. They're propelled by a team of synchronized paddlers, with a drummer to set the pace and a steersperson to guide the boat.
The racing action will start at 10 a.m. local community businesses and organization teams in head-to-head heats until a champion is crowned.
Plus enjoy the festival atmosphere with food & drinks, a beer garden and kids area.
The festival benefits the River Discovery Center's yearlong educational programs.
