JEROME COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Firefighters are responding to a brush fire burning along Exit 173 on Interstate 84.
The westbound on-ramp and the off-ramp are shut down as crews respond to the fire.
The fire moved toward U.S. Highway 93, and an Idaho State Police trooper on the scene said they were determining if they needed to shut down the highway. However, the trooper said that is unlikely at this moment.
Smoke is blowing across the road as the flames move westward with the wind. Law enforcement advised drivers to exercise caution in the area.
The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of land Management, the Twin Falls Fire Department and Idaho Power are on scene alongside ISP.
This is a developing story; KMVT will provide updates as they come in.
