On Monday at 12:02 p.m. the National Weather Service released an extreme heat warning valid from Tuesday 11 a.m. until Thursday 8 p.m. for Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and North Central Oregon.
“Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 100 degrees expected. This will pose a major risk of heat-related illness,” comments the weather service. “Daily high temperature records are at risk for many cities in the warning area Tuesday through Thursday.”
“Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events,” adds the weather service.
