Union members rallied in Boston Monday during a Labor Day parade hosted by the Greater Boston Labor Council.
Organizers cast the event as a “historic display of worker solidarity” that replaced the city’s customary Labor Day breakfast at the Park Plaza. GBLC President Darlene Lombos said the parade was “a statement.”
“Workers are fed up with billionaires who hijack our democracy while pushing brutal cuts to the very programs that create jobs and keep our communities strong — everything from infrastructure investment to education and health care,” Lombos said in a statement.
