WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Two weeks ago, a good Samaritan found a small dog with severe burns to his back trembling in fear in the median on I-35 in Waco.
That person brought him to an animal shelter who then reached out to their friends at Long Way Home Adoptables.
“They basically did what they could for him but they knew he was going to need more and so that’s the point that they reached out to us and we jumped into action,” said Ashley Hall, Executive Director LWHA.
The dog now known as Butterfinger, had massive burns to most of his back has been hospitalized since getting to them in College Station.
“There’s some exposed vertebrae,” said Amanda Richards, Veterinarian with Summit Veterinary Hospital where Butterfinger is being treated. “There’s some exposed parts of his pelvis where the
