A man who came into the UK on the back of a truck has been jailed after being found inside a cannabis farm.

Indrit Hespepa, 24, began working as a drug dealer after getting into debt with suppliers after entering the UK illegally. Leeds Crown Court heard on Monday that he was first caught dealing cocaine and cannabis in Portsmouth in 2023.

Prosecutor Joseph Bell told the court officers noted him with known users and searched him, finding £350 cash, £60 worth of cannabis and £130 worth of cocaine. He was then caught with cannabis again, in February last year, in Newcastle. Mr Bell said officers discovered 20 pots of cannabis which had fallen onto the floor of Hespepa's car.
