CLEVELAND — After a very hot July, August really didn't live up to the "dog days of summer" term.
There were plenty of chilly days that felt more like October. To go along with the chill, precipitation was pretty minimal. Dry and cool conditions were common this year.
August started off with a very dry stretch after a very rainy end to July that had over three inches of rain in one week. The first 11 days of August had no measurable rain; that was one of the driest starts to August on record for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
