WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - It’s Labor Day weekend, and many people are spending the holiday at the lake, a scene much different than this time last year.

One year ago today, on Labor Day, I visited Cheney Lake when water levels were below normal. Since then, Cheney Reservoir has received so much rain that levels have returned to normal.

As a result, we’ve seen visitors enjoying activities such as boating, camping, and fishing to celebrate their holiday weekend.

We spoke with Marina owner Kevin O’Brien about his reflections on the past year.
