Around a decade ago, Vinny Venuti dropped out of VCU and, as he puts it, “ran away to New York City to join the circus.”

He spent the next 10 years working in the city’s underground entertainment industry, producing burlesque shows, cabaret theater productions and music festivals.

Now back in Richmond, Venuti is looking to bring a taste of that nightlife experience to Shockoe Bottom with DreamHaus, a new cabaret theater and event venue he’s opening at 110 N. 18th St.

The 200-capacity theater will host cabaret theater performances, burlesque and drag shows, live music, talk shows and more.

“Anytime that you feel the need to see something interesting, a spectacle, something amazing on a stage, DreamHaus is where you’re going to come,” Venuti said.
