T hree Maricopa Community Colleges will reform their programs to guide more community college students into paths that lead directly to good jobs or bachelor’s degrees.

Chandler-Gilbert, GateWay, and Paradise Valley community colleges are three of the 55 institutions across the nation chosen to join the Unlocking Opportunity network by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.

Unlocking Opportunity is a three-year initiative that engages community colleges to develop and enact reforms focused on increasing the number of students entering and completing high-value programs.

The ultimate goal of Unlocking Opportunity is to ensure that more students complete programs that lead directly to well-paying jobs or completion of a bachelor’s degree.
