The team was captained by Sam Orman-Chan, who studies computer science, alongside history student John Clayworth, chemistry student Grace Bloomfield, and Laura Bruce, who studies conservation of cultural heritage. They competed against a team from the University of Lancaster.

Team captain Sam Orman-Chan said: “It was a great honour to captain the University of Lincoln’s very first team on University Challenge. Representing the University on such a prestigious and well-known programme was both exciting and frightening, but above all it was a fantastic experience that I will always remember."
