CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two teenagers were arrested in connection with the killing of a 16-year-old in north Charlotte last month, police say.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of Lambeth Drive and Hillsboro Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 17. When officers arrived, they found 16-year-old Tyshaun Stokes suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
On Aug. 28, CMP located two juvenile suspects who'd been identified by detectives in the case. The suspects, a 16-year-old and 14-year-old, were taken into custody. The 16-year-old is charged as an adult with first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied property. CMPD said the 14-year-old is under a secured custody order for first-degree mu
