BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Judge Louise Hines reversed her contempt ruling against a prosecutor during a hearing Tuesday morning in the 19th Judicial District courthouse.

Judge Hines told the court she made a mistake when holding a prosecutor in contempt of court during a murder trial last week.

During the trial, a prosecutor and two defense lawyers were held in contempt of court after the judge took issue with their behavior.

The state was using its rebuttal argument to clarify a statement previously made by the defense attorney when the defense attorney made an objection. Judge Hines responded by holding a finger towards Prosecutor Morgan Johnson and saying, “That’s one,” meaning Johnson was being held in contempt, according to court documents.
