The son of retiring Eagles champion Jeremy McGovern has proven it’s never too early for media training, with the seven-year-old appearing to cheekily flip the bird at West Coast fans during his father’s lap of honour at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Bidding farewell to the Eagles faithful, McGovern was shadowed by his three young children and wife Madison, along with fellow 2018 AFL premiership star Dom Sheed.

But the father was momentarily upstaged, at least, on the replay.

Eagle-eyed fan @ya_mate_nate_ captured the moment young Hudson appeared to offer a middle finger salute to one particular fan, poking his tongue at the stands before continuing to wave at the crowd.
