LONGVIEW, Wash. (KPTV) - An overnight fire impacted several businesses and apartments in Longview.
At about 12:30 a.m., Longview Fire crews responded to a fire at a strip mall on Washington Way. Police worked with the Longview Fire Department to evacuate people living in the apartments above the businesses.
The fire was put out within minutes, damaging one business, but neighboring businesses and the second floor apartments were exposed to smoke.
According to officials, there were no smoke alarms sounding where the main fire was located.
Official say they were lucky someone saw the fire and called them because it had been burning for a while and it could have been much worse.
No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
