(WJET/WFXP) – While many people are already saying goodbye to summer, one local park is keeping the seasonal spirit alive until the end of the month.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) announced that Presque Isle State Park will extend their swimming season after Labor Day weekend.

Beach 8, also known as Pettinato Beach, will be open and guarded on weekends only starting Saturday, September 6, through Sunday, September 28. The beach will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Park officials will also have ADA access available at Beach 8 during this extended swimming season.

Beachgoers should be advised that on Sunday, September 7, park roads and beaches will be closed until noon due to the Erie Marathon.
