Northgate’s bats came alive last Thursday night, powering the Vikings to a decisive 13-1 victory over Newnan in a cross-county softball rivalry.
The Vikings scored early and never looked back, striking for a run in the first inning before exploding for 12 more over the final four frames. Newnan managed its lone run in the second inning but struggled to keep pace against a dominant Northgate lineup.
Ella Coburn set the tone in the circle for the Vikings, holding Newnan to just two hits over four innings while striking out five. She didn’t allow an earned run, giving Northgate the cushion it needed to pull away.
