The legend of Lee Corso has ridden off into the sunset of retirement.

Ohio State sent him packing in style.

Corso picked the No. 2 Buckeyes to beat No. 1 Texas ahead of the August 30 season opener on the set of ESPN “College GameDay” at Ohio Stadium. That was just the start of his fantastic day.

After his final College game day, Ohio State gave Corso an appropriate gift: a vintage Brutus Buckeye head.

It wasn’t just any Buckeye head; the retro headgear looked precisely like the one he donned in 1996 for his first of hundreds of headgear picks.

Lee Corso made his first headgear selection on October 5, 1996, when he picked No. 3 Ohio State to take down No. 4 Penn State. The Buckeyes had little trouble on that day as they rolled over the Nittany Lions 38-7.
