POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is inviting the community to a public hearing later this month.

It’s to discuss proposed improvements to Route 53 in Poplar Bluff.

According to MoDOT, the project includes adding a center turn lane on Route 53 from Route 142 to County Road 306. Additionally, this project includes a left turn lane at Route UU and access management measures to reduce conflict points along the corridor.

The hearing will be held at the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, located at 3019 Fair St. in Poplar Bluff.

It will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, and will be open house style, and visitors can stop by anytime.
