Penn State stayed put in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

The Nittany Lions were No. 2 in the Week 2 poll after dismantling Nevada 46-11, trailing just Big Ten rival Ohio State. The Buckeyes beat previous No. 1 Texas, 14-7, to begin the 2025 season.

James Franklin’s squad received just seven first-place votes this week, a stark drop from 23 in the preseason poll. By contrast, Ohio State received 55 top votes.

Defending national champion Ohio State is the new No. 1 in the AP Top 25 college football poll while Alabama plummets to No. 21.
