Rainfall could make its return to Massachusetts on Friday, as thunderstorms could then follow going into the weekend.
Conditions should remain sunny and warm on Wednesday and Thursday, with a chance of early morning fog on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. But then a large trough over most of the eastern United States, bringing with it a warm and wet air mass.
This air mass is expected to bring with it scattered rain showers, with as much as 1 and a half inches of rain to potentially fall, forecasters said.
"Difficult to time exact periods of rainfall, but generally anytime between Thursday night and Saturday night looks to feature a chance for rain," forecasters wrote. “Perhaps best chances being Thursday night into early Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening.”
