EUGENE, Ore. - Lane County is experiencing a rise in COVID-19 cases, according to local health officials.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that Oregon's COVID test positivity rate stands at 11.1 percent. Jason Davis, communications director at Lane County Public Health, emphasized the seasonal nature of COVID-19.
"Covid 19 is now a seasonal illness...," said Davis. "It does cause... severe illness in certain populations. For most people it will cause you know maybe a two or three maybe four or five day illness that is not fun to go through it could keep you from school or work and therefore is worth preventing."
