NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night on Fain Street, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police charged 42-year-old Nerika N. Patton with criminal homicide and gun possession by a convicted felon in connection with the shooting of 50-year-old Shereca M. Waters outside 87 Fain Street.

According to police, Patton and Waters got into an argument that turned physical. Waters reportedly punched Patton once in the face. After which, police said Patton pulled out a gun and shot Waters before running away.

Police said Waters died of a gunshot wound on Sunday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
