LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — Can you adopt an animal rescued by authorities?
That's the question on many viewers' minds tonight after the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department rescued more than 70 dogs from a home in Litchfield Park.
While you can't adopt the dogs right now, pets rescued by MCSO's MASH Unit can be adopted.
MCSO told 12News that if a judge determines the animals cannot go back to their original owner, the animals will be put it up for adoption through the MASH program on the MCSO website.
But it is a process, and won't happen right away, MCSO explains.
If you look at the MCSO MASH Unit Facebook page, there is a link to the animals currently up for adoption . Each animal has a bio, which tells you a little bit about how they came to the MASH Unit. Right now on PetFinder,
