Two people were taken to the hospital after a shooting in Hartford Tuesday night, police said.

Authorities said they were called to Battles Street for a reported shooting just before 7:30 p.m.

Officers found shell casings at the scene and later learned that two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police said a man in his 50s sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Another man in his 70s also has non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are conducting an investigation.
