GARDENDALE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - We’re working to learn more after a nurse practitioner, with ties to Jasper and Gardendale offices, and a doctor have had their licenses suspended.

At least one of those offices is now unable to operate.

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners claims the two have violated state rules by excessively prescribing controlled substances.

According to documents from the state medical board, Dr. Terry Bentley and nurse practitioner Austin Tucker violated state rules that are in place to prevent excessive prescribing. The board called their actions a “danger to public health and safety,” and in its reports says it seeks to revoke both Tucker and Bentley’s licenses that give them the ability to prescribe controlled substances.
