Clydesdale MSP Mairi McAllan showed her support for constituency businesses during Scotland Loves Local week with a series of visits to highlight the work of local enterprises.
She paid visits to Lanark shop The Learning Academy, locally-based company Unleash The Dogs, Strathaven shop Say-It Gifts and social enterprise Biggar community market garden during the week-long celebration of Scotland’s communities, which this year had the theme of “people make places”.
Event organisers from Scotland’s Towns Partnership shared figures during the annual celebration week indicating that South Lanarkshire’s economy could be boosted by £17 million if every local resident spent just £1 per week more with local businesses.
