Danville authorities are searching for a 35-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting more than a week ago at Woodside Village Apartments.

Allante Hairston is facing charges after a gunfire incident injured a 23-year-old man, the Danville Police Department announced Tuesday afternoon.

It was at about 2:20 a.m. Aug. 24 when officers were called to the apartment complex in the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road.

The 23-year-old man suffered what officials termed non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, but did not offer any other details.

The suspect is charged with two counts of malicious wounding, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of shooting in a public place and one count of misdemeanor reck
