The Met Office has issued a new nine-hour long yellow thunderstorm warning for Coventry and Warwickshire . It comes into force at 11am this morning (September 3) and lasts until 8pm tonight.

It warns: "Thunderstorms associated with scattered heavy showers may cause some impacts during Wednesday." The Met Office adds that there is a 'good chance' driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.

It may also lead to damage to buildings and structures from strong winds and/or lightning strikes as well as possible delays to train services. Meteorologists say that there is also a 'small chance' that a few properties could become flooded.
