GRAND RAPIDS — East Kentwood football coach Tyrone Spencer had high hopes for his group entering his second year in charge after moving from Detroit to the west side.
"We are so much ahead now as a group, as a unit, and the guys love it," Spencer said in July. "And I think it means something that we've been to war together. ... Now, we've been to war together so that bond, that trust and the relationships has grown so much."
