Claim £150 Warm Home Discount to lower winter energy bills as scheme opens early

Three energy suppliers have opened applications early for this year’s Warm Home Discount Scheme . Most eligible households in England and Wales will see the £150 discount added automatically to their energy bill this winter, however, most people in Scotland will need to make a claim directly with their provider. ‌

Applications usually open in October, but Money Saving Expert (MSE.com) reports that four energy providers are now accepting applications. These include Octopus Energy, So Energy, Good Energy and Utilita (until September 10). The team of experts are urging people “don't delay, as it's first come, first served”. ‌

Under the UK Government’s Plan for Change, over 6 million households will benefit this winter from the £150 discount, paid directly to the supplier.
