UPDATE: The Chattanooga Public Works Department has released an outline on repair approach and a project timeline.

The affected area extends father than the visible sinkhole, according to the department.

A final contractor is expected to be selected in mid-October, and construction is estimated to take 4-6 months.

PREVIOUS: A road is still closed in the Northshore area after a sinkhole formed over the weekend.

The hole was reported to 911 on Sunday shortly before 9:30am, according to the Hamilton County 911 call log .

It’s on Heritage Landing Drive in the 700-900 blocks beneath Veteran's Bridge.

It's about 5 feet wide and 10 feet deep.
