UPDATE: The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga says it will lift the two-week suspension of Greek Life activities, effective September 3.
The temporary pause on official events and activities came after reports of sexual assault and hazing from two separate fraternities.
“We deeply value the role our fraternities and sororities play in campus life, and this brief pause allowed us to reaffirm our shared commitment to safety, accountability and student success,” said Dr. Artanya Wesley, UTC Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. “I am grateful to our Greek Life community for their cooperation and look forward to seeing them resume their events and activities with renewed energy and focus.”
