In truth, it wasn't a terrible year for extreme heat in Austin, especially when compared to recent years.

Through Tuesday (September 2) we've had 19 triple digit highs at Austin's Camp Mabry.

We're on pace to have the fewest triple digits in a year since 2021 and a far cry from the excessive triple digit counts we had in 2022 (68) and 2023 (80). An average year sees 29 triple digit highs in Austin at Camp Mabry.
