LEXINGTON, Ky. ( WKYT /Gray News) – A University of Kentucky senior charged in connection with the death of her infant made her first appearance in court on Tuesday.

Laken Snelling, 21, faces charges of concealing the birth of an infant, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Snelling pleaded not guilty to all three charges on Tuesday.

She was arrested Sunday, but court records show she was released on bond Monday night.

Court records also show that Snelling must remain on house arrest and live with her parents.

According to an arrest citation, Lexington police were called to a home on Park Avenue for an unresponsive infant on Wednesday.

Police said they found a baby’s body in a closet, wrapped in a towel inside a black trash bag.
