More than 20 deliberate fires have been set at a Cambridgeshire landfill site within four months. Between April 22 and August 27 of this year, 27 fires have been reported at the site in Pool Road in Wilburton , near Ely .

Cambridgeshire Police is appealing for information as the fires were determined to be deliberate.

PC Joe Dockerill, from the East Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I’m appealing for anyone with information about these fires to come forward as they are potentially putting people in danger and causing damage.

“Dealing with the fires have also been very draining on both fire and police resources. We are working with our partners to tackle the issue and are conducting regular patrols in the area, but we also need information from the public to help
