The Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham
Members of staff working at Nottingham hospitals have reportedly described some bereaved parents as "compo seekers" for joining an ongoing maternity review. Families said they were "horrified" but not surprised by the comments, which they say were made by senior staff members at Nottingham University Hospitals ( NUH ).
The trust, which runs the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital , is currently subject to the largest maternity review in NHS history, with 2,425 cases being examined by expert midwife Donna Ockenden. The alleged staff comments were raised during NUH's annual public meeting today (Wednesday, September 3) by chief executive Antony May, who described them as "totally, utterly unacceptable".
