The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting of a homeless man that happened Saturday, Aug. 30, in Port Huron Township.
The victim entered a restaurant with a gunshot wound to the arm, according to a Wednesday, Sept. 3, news release from the sheriff's office. Deputies responded to the restaurant and put a tourniquet on the victim to stop the bleeding.
Tri-Hospital EMS transported the victim to Macomb McLaren. The Port Huron Township Fire Department also responded to the incident.
A K-9 officer was brought to the scene and led officers to a wooded area near the intersection of 28th and Oak streets. No one was found in the area. The victim later told police he did not see his attacker.
