CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The place to eat, will again be on Quarrier Street for fans of Danny’s Barbecue in the Capital City. The former Mayor’s barbecue stand on Quarrier Street closed at the end of 2022, but it will reopen in the same location Thursday.

Jones has partnered with a Beckley restaurant owner and longtime friend, B.J. Noel, to restart operations. Noel, who owns and operates Merchants Delli Grill in Beaver, W.Va. and Jones are longtime pals and for many years Jones had promised to teach Noel and his partners how to make his special brand of barbecue. They decided to do a class one Sunday in recent months, but little did Noel realize Danny had an ulterior motive for luring him to Charleston.
