SLIDELL, La. —

The Slidell Police Department needs the public's help finding an 18-year-old accused of leading officers on a chase over the weekend.

The chase happened Saturday night when officers were clearing a group of people accused of loitering in a parking lot. Advertisement

Police say Justin Lebouef, 18, was driving recklessly and nearly caused several wrecks while trying to speed away.

Slidell police say officer tried to pull Lebouef over multiple times during the pursuit that ultimately ended on the Southshore.

During the chase, Lebouef lost a tire and crashed along Interstate 10 near Irish Bayou.

Lebouef then ran away from the car and got away, according to police.

Officers believe he may have been picked up by another person.

Lebouef is wanted on multiple active warrant
