In May of this year, retired navy veteran Terry Williams had a safety light installed near Union Elementary School on U.S. Highway 421 south with $25,000 of his own money. Now, Williams is back at it again, having just installed another safety light in the Union school system, this time for Union Intermediate School on Edmond Mathis Road.
Williams, who used to teach technology at Union High School, first gained inspiration for the lighting project after having seen the heavy amount of traffic the roads by Union schools were getting particularly among agricultural trucks.
