One of the biggest names in Canadian tennis is on a huge run — and climbing up the world rankings in the process.
Following his four-hour quarter-final win over Alex de Minaur at the US Open , Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime is well on his way to try to reclaim his former career-high ranking of No. 6 in the world.
Auger-Aliassime dropped his first set on Thursday, but ended up winning two tiebreaks to advance by a final score of 4-6, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6.
It is the second Grand Slam semi-final of the 25-year-old Montreal native’s career. In 2021, he faced off against Daniil Medvedev in the final four at the US Open, where he was the eventual champion.
