SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - By now we’ve all had a couple days to look back at Notre Dame’s first game of the season — that 27-24 loss down in Miami back on Sunday night — and one of the issues that was apparent was the defense.

The unit has usually been a strength for Notre Dame in recent years, but against Miami the Irish allowed 205 passing yards and 127 rushing yards while not being able to force a single turnover.

A big problem for Notre Dame was its defensive line. They couldn’t force much pressure on the Hurricanes, as Boubacar Traore got the only sack for the defense while Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa was the only other player to record a tackle for loss.

Now in the bye week, these are the points of emphasis that Notre Dame is working on.
