NORTH BEND, Ore. - Officials with the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport have responded to the arrest of a 57-year-old man earlier today on multiple counts of criminal mischief and burglary, airport authorities said.
Airport and North Bend police officials said that 57-year-old Melvin Myhill was found inside a private aircraft just after 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 3 following a coordinated search by airport staff and North Bend Police. Myhill was charged with 17 counts, including criminal mischief and burglary. Authorities discovered he had entered multiple aircraft, affecting a total of 11 planes that were parked inside the commercial hangar or on the apron outside inside the secured airport boundary. Myhill was transported to Bay Area Hospital for evaluation after his arrest.
