CORVALLIS, Ore. – The juvenile cougar that was euthanized on Monday was found in the backyard of a home on Northwest Camellia Drive. It was seen in broad daylight by neighbors a day after it had killed a goat, and neighbors think it was coming back for more.

The homeowner of the property where the cougar was found asked not to be identified, but provided the timeline of how the big cat was found.

“Yeah, my husband had actually sent me a picture of a goat because our neighbors right down here have goats and that was like drug over by our fence line right here," the property owner said. "And it was, you know, mutilated, So we weren't sure if it had died of natural causes and the vultures were getting it or if it had been attacked by something.
