HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A federal court has dismissed a civil rights lawsuit filed by a state lawmaker against the City of Hartford.
Representative Maryam Khan claimed Hartford police officers didn’t do enough to help her after she was attacked by a man while leaving a Muslim prayer service back in 2023.
An internal investigation at HPD found that responding officers did respond appropriately.
The suspect who attacked her, 30-year-old Andrey Desmond, was arrested and eventually sentenced to five years in prison.
Representative Kahn now has until October 3rd to file an amended complaint.
